Update On Molly Kate

Here is the latest report from Molly Kate's mom:

Molly Kate's surgery went well...it's the first time in her life she's without "hardware" (shunts, etc.)....time will tell if she can tolerate it. We're all pretty tired, but happy and grateful it's over...

...posting the story of her struggles and meeting with GWB was awesome. I haven't showed her yet, but she will be touched. Thank you for all the prayers.

These Iraqis seem to agree with Mr. Allawi about Bush. Maybe they need John Kerry to give them a tour of Iraq so he can show them how wrong they are about their own homeland.

This is an excerpt from the email I received from the mom of Molly Kate Wilkinson, the girl I wrote about earlier today. The following words were offered in addition to the story posted at Betsy's Page in early September about her meeting with President Bush:

These were kids that have obvious mental, physical, and emotional challenges. George W. Bush understood that having media there would have caused confusion and anxiety for these kids. He continually asked his Secret Service agents to "stand back" and "leave this kids alone, please!" when they were crawling all over him.

At one point, he was holding a small tot, who was wailing away with no intention of stopping. President Bush looked at us all and said, "Well, he sounds just like my colleagues in Congress!"
He treated my own daughter with unbelievable patience and concern. She spent several minutes with him, telling him about our son, a US Marine stationed overseas. He stopped, looked her right in the eye and said, "You tell your brother that I said to tell him that I am grateful to him for his service and that he has a great little sister".

Sharing this story with others who do not get the chance to observe, first-hand, the compassion and quiet dignity this man has, is a way I can help with President's Bush re-election. To me, all the issues are important, a man who behaves with integrity when no one is watching is a quality I value most.

I have been exchanging emails for a couple of months now with an incredible woman who has quite a story to tell. She told her daughter's story at Betsy's Page earlier this fall, but there is much more to tell and maybe someday she will let me. Her daughter is undergoing the most recent in a long string of surgeries today and I ask that any of my readers who pray, to do so for this child, her mother and her family. I will provide more specifics later, but unfortunately can't do so right now.

Is A Terrifying Surprise Yet To Come?

For the past year or so, many have feared that the October Surprise would be a terrrorist attack on U.S. soil. So far, we have been fortunate that one has not occurred. I, however, won't breathe easy until the day after the election. A Polipundit reader, who chooses to remain anonymous, sent me an email raising a frightening possibility found in several comments posted by Moonzoo at Belmont Club. These posts led the reader to speculate:

...that NYTrogate is a set up so that if a Madrid-style attack occurs before the election, Kedwards will have positioned themselves perfectly to lay the blame on the administration's incompetence. Moonzoo goes so far as to say that if you look closely at what Kedwards have been saying, they seem to be INVITING jihadists to attack.

I don't know how much to make of this or to overly alarm anyone. But I worry that Bush supporters and all of us in the nation might have to brace ourselves for a lot more than the latest inane MSM propaganda.

The writer of the email then linked to a post at Three Rounds Brisk which includes this quote.

Kerry can't give reasons to vote for him, so he attacks. That's traditional - almost reflexive in fact, at this stage of Democrat campaigns. They don't have another DUI story, the ANG line has been flogged to death, and this damned economy hasn't crumbled in the face of $55.00 a barrel crude. This does have all the hallmarks of an October surprise. Did Kerry's people bother to ask themselves why they got handed this story now?

Syria's Assad knows that he's on G.W. Bush's to-do list for the next administration. He also has an ambassador in that august body. Not too long ago he had a non-voting position on the security council. He also hosts Hamas and Hizbollah in downtown Damascus. The U.N. knows that coalition access to Syrian dumps, and the Bekka Valley in Lebanon, will answer a whole lot of questions about Iraq's WMD programs.

The elections in Spain were derailed by targeted bombings that occurred three days before the ballots were cast.

My conclusion: The chances of us being bombed on Friday or shortly thereafter have increased dramatically. And if we are bombed, we'll see RDX/HDX or derivative materials used in the weapons.

You can buy RDX off the shelf anywhere in the world. You can identify the compound in hours. I wonder how long to determine the manufacturer, if it is even possible to do?
