Instapundit links to a Sandy Berger update.
The criminal probe into why former Bill Clinton aide Sandy Berger illegally sneaked top-secret documents out of the National Archives — possibly in his socks — has heated up and is now before a federal grand jury, The Post has learned. .."It may have been off the front pages, but the investigation has been active," said a source with knowledge of the probe. "[Berger] has been interviewed several times by federal agents — FBI and prosecutors." Berger admits removing 40 to 50 top-secret documents from the archives, but claims it was an "honest mistake" made while he vetted documents for the 9/11 commission's probe into the Twin Towers attacks. Berger has also acknowledged that he destroyed some documents — he says by accident.
I worked for over ten years as a paralegal and most of that time was spent working large document cases. When the case originally broke I wrote about how that experience left me especially outraged by the Sandy Berger incident and by the little media coverage (comparatively speaking) it received. I am no less outraged now. Read the New York Post story linked above (especially the last paragraph) to get an idea about why Berger might have removed the documents and read my post from last year, also linked above, to understand how there is no way any of Berger's actions were accidental.

Bill Clinton may be Teflon...I don't think Berger will be....the questions one might ask are: "How much of a fall is he willing to take if he was acting on the orders of Bill Clinton?" "Is there a deal to be made here"?
