I just made a really yummy treat using a recipe from a friend and it is too good to keep to myself. The recipe only calls for three ingredients, square pretzels, Rolo candies and pecan halves. You just place the Rolo candy (unwrap first, of course) on top of the pretzel, microwave and press the pecan into the top of the half melted candy. I did a plate of 20 at a time and microwaved them for about 30 seconds on high. They are extremely easy to make, look really nice and are delicious. Try them sometime.
Update: Actually, the store I shopped at did not have the square pretzels, so I bought these Rold Gold butter flavored "Cracker" pretzels instead. They are round, but have the square grid pattern. They are incredibly good by themselves, and because they are round like the Rolos, they work wonderfully for the candies.

Lorie,
I have made these many times recently. They are always a hit. Everyone thinks I have gone to a lot of trouble to make them & can't believe how easy they are. I too have had trouble finding the square pretzels & have used the tiny pretzel twists & they work. I have made them in the oven & toaster oven too. I am glad you gave the recipe. Everyone should try them.

Gee, after making homemade ginger snaps, benne wafers, and fudge during Christmas, I was going on a diet. Thanks alot Lori. Now I have to make these and 'test' them.

Yummy! I, too, am trying to lose weight. But these sound too good to pass up.

I was walking down the chips aisle at the grocery store the other day and saw the square pretzels. I considered it a sign and bought them, along with a bag of Rolos and a bag of pecan halves. This evening I fixed a plateful, and you're right--they're delicious--and SO easy! Thank you for passing along the recipe!

A friend at work made these and I wanted to do some for my family. I went to Dogpile and typed in pretzel squares, rolos, and pecans and the fourth hit was LorieByrd.com. Thanks for helping out an old friend. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
