Belated Anniversary

Unfortunately all the activity at Polipundit two weeks ago happened the night before my anniversary and I didn't get around to making any reference to it. Actually we even postponed celebrating it.  On May 16, I celebrated my 14th wedding anniversary.  The message I posted last year still applies.

Jon Swift has an interesting post about his battle with CFS (conservative fatigue syndrome).  I feel his pain.

More T.V. Talk -- Glenn Beck

I have never listened to Glenn Beck on the radio, but I am becoming a regular viewer of his television show on CNN Headline News Network.  It is entertaining and informative and I have yet to tune in and be disappointed.  If you have not yet discovered it, give it a try.  Beck is conservative, but not a partisan.  He is amusing in a real guy sorta way.  He is also really smart and brings up the topics and questions that pop into your head and hope someone asks. 

Another show that I have been watching more lately is The Situation with Tucker Carlson show on MSNBC.  It is actually the only show that I watch on that network.  Since Tucker lost the bowtie, his entire attitude has loosened up -- seriously.  He is just a lot more fun now and I like the mix of humor and lighthearted fare with more serious subjects.  I stopped watching the show for a while (sometimes he just annoyed me) and just happened to catch it a few times and discover how much better it was recently.  Now I probably catch at least part of it several times a week. If you have never watched it, or haven't seen it in a while, give it a try, too.

Controversial, But Really Funny

Carlos Mencia is profane and makes jokes about religion and the handicapped, and he is hysterically funny.  (Actually the jokes about the handicapped are aimed more at how most people treat the handicapped, but still he says things that some will find offensive).  I am watching my favorite episode of his Comedy Central show, Mind of Mencia, right now.  I have seen it at least a half dozen times, but it is funnier every time I watch it.  This episode is labeled the "Kanye West; dancers" one on the episode description on the Dish Network guide.  It includes a stand up routine about rebuilding New Orleans that is one of the most politically incorrect, and funniest, things I have ever heard.  His Kanye West video makes me laugh until I cry.  One part of the video addressing how Kanye grew up in the suburbs, shows a picture of Bush kissing Condi on the cheek then turning to show a gleaming gold tooth, to the tune " Bush has Condoleeza so he's more hood than you."

His Comedy Central special is also hilarious.  His comedy isn't for everyone.  It is laced with profanity and aimed at religion and other topics that are usually off limits, but it is very funny.

Puppy Update

I will try to post some puppy pictures soon.  They are now almost five weeks old and are absolutely adorable.  Now they are bouncing around and playing with each other and making lots of puppy poop.  They are incredibly healthy.  They are almost all spoken for and we have not had to run an ad or anything.  We are still debating whether or not to keep one of them.  It is tempting, but I am not so sure I want to go through that one year (minimum) of chewing that seems mandatory with labs.

I Blame Viagra For This One

Kim Priestap links to a story about STDs on the rise in a specific community.  I have to admit that this one surprised me a bit.  My guess is that it is the popularity of Viagra that is to blame.
