» Traitors in Our Midst from Chickenhawk Express
While our soldiers - our sons and daughters - are fighting a war and putting their lives on the line every second of the day, we have these freakin' idiots that are supposed to be Americans, stabbing them in the back on a continuous basis. [Read More]

BTW, it has been shown that the liberal MSM has not been honest in their reporting of the news. Why the people on the left still jump on any first reported news by these dishonest news sources as proven facts?

Sorry, "the terrorists"? These were civilians. As for the American legal system, I have a great love for it, which is one of the reasons I don't casually throw around terms like "traitor".
How about we make a deal? I'll resist assuming that our countrymen killed civilians (which I hope you would admit would be a terrible thing) if you resist assuming the John Murtha's wrong just because you don't like him.

LoveAmerica Immigrant, I know you're smarter than to write off the story just because it appeared on NBC. Just because Newsweek, the Times, et al have made mistakes don't mean that, by and large, they aren't still reliable.
In any event, what's the alternative? Blogs? Sorry, but for all their virtues, blogs don't generally break news. We make due with what we have...

TS, it doesn't matter what the facts are at this point... Murtha has absolutely no business politicizing the incident or making any kind of absolute statement as to what happened.
Posted by: The Listkeeper | Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 01:45 PM
Hmmm...
"it doesn't matter what the facts are at this point"
Well, that's encouraging.
This -- "Murtha has absolutely no business politicizing the incident" -- is a cop-out, b/c what you really mean is that he shouldn't talk about "what happened."
And why not? By your reasoning, our politicians should be allowed to take us to war but shouldn't let us know when people die.
Assuming the incident is true, how does these deaths reflect well on anyone? It's not as if it makes the Democrats look good, either.
It'd be nice if these commentators would merely see the tragedy in all this and not be so blinded by hatred for politicians with whom they do not agree.

TS,
Simply using your own standard, I hope you are smarter than what you wrote there. It has been proven that the liberal MSM has been willing to lie to advance their anti-Bush and anti-military agenda. So an "objective" person who has some respect for the truth would have waited until what they reported have been confirmed. If a person has been lying to you a few times, will you jump on anything he tells you immediately?
The more important point is the disgard for the presumption of innocence and the willingness to politicize the incident for political gain. The people like Murtha seems to be willing to treat the terrorists better than our people in uniform. I am surprised that you couldn't see that.
Posted by: LoveAmerica Immigrant | Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 01:57 PM
Another way to ask the question is this: is it too much to ask the Dems to treat our military as well as they would have treated the terrorists?
Posted by: LoveAmerica Immigrant | Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 01:58 PM
LAI,
It's just shows which side the left is rooting for in this war, so yeah, it's too much to ask of them.
Posted by: P. Bunyan | Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 02:21 PM
No, TS, it's because as one of the civilian political leaders of this country, he owes it to those Marines who are being accused to 1) Not politicize the incident and 2) Wait until the actual facts from the review board are out before characterizing their behavior.
Posted by: The Listkeeper | Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 02:37 PM
TS is why the left will never be given the reigns again. This is the crowd that gave Clinton a pass when it was politically expedient to do so at the moment. But what they really did is expose their lack of principle to the sunlight. And now even the heavy lifting of the MSM can't put the left back in power. The left wins the polls, the right wins when it's time to mark the ballots.

TS...Murtha stated as a FACT that the Marines murdered a number of civilians (and inflated the number beyond even what the initial "claim" was). He then attributed a REASON for this "Genghis Khan" type behavior (stress associated with an "illegal war").
Murtha is a sleazy doddering old fool who is providing AID & COMFORT to the enemy, by giving them propoganda material they can attribute to "elected American officials".
THAT is his treasonous activity!!
If Murtha were to wait until an official FINDING was released, and THEN froth at the mouth about it, then I would make no such claim.
But to allow this to be likened to Mei Lai (sorry about the spelling)...and AGREE with that, with NO official findings of ANY kind is, well, providing AID & COMFORT to the enemy!!

Maybe the dems think he's more "credible" since he's prior service, I don't know.

I do. They are still trying the "band of brothers" angle on Congressional races - making a big deal about any and every veteran they have who is running for Congress. Naturally, they all oppose the war and because of their vet status (which may have been 2 years in the 60s before spending 40 years as a public school teacher) we are supposed to elect them to represent us.
I see many on the left point to this crowd and then ask "where are all the Republican veterans, especially Iraq vets, running for Congress...if you guys are so pro-military"
I usually respond that they are re-upping and still fighting the fight. But there is no reasoning with this crowd. Their simple analysis is that a former vet, on that basis alone, deserves electoral support.
You would have thought they might have learned with the Kerry debacle - but no.

TS,
I'm with Justrand, an elected leader shouldn't be the best friend and ally al-Jazerra and our enemies have, for that's exactly what Murtha and other Democrats have been. To try and refute that would insult the intelligence of the dimmest idiot.
Sweetie,
This is why the left MUST NOT be allowed to regain power. To do so would be devastating to national security. I hope all republicans who are planning on staying home this November remember that.

Excuse me, but there is no evidence, at this point, to state that, "Murtha is correct."
Military officials? What military officials? After what happened with that NSA, "telephone records," story reported last week, anyone who would have the gall to state that, "Murtha is correct," must have their head stuffed up their nether regions.
TS, you're making a mistake in presuming that this is true, and so is Murtha.

TS. Since you don't possess a DD Form 214, and have never been asked to place your life on the line, your comments have no meaning or value.
you are a no nothing on the WOT and a do nothing for your country.
The real pity is that everyday an american serviceman dies for your stupidit and sorry ass.
By the way, I believe you are Mary Q.

The disgusting thing about this event is that it shows another example of the Dems trying to take every opportunity to smear our military. One could take the opportunity to show how decent of the US military to investigate such an incident to make sure that no war crimes were committed (given the brutal nature of the terrorist insurgency). Instead they took the news as a way to tar our the military in general. On the other hand, the Dems took every terrorist bombing against civilians in Iraq as an opportunity to bash Bush instead of condemning these senseless killing.

Did any of my friends from poli leave bread crumbs anywhere for Mary Q to find?
