SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 “The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” – President George W. Bush, September 11, 2001 Address to the Nation
This 9/11 memorial post is a compilation of commentary, news reports, eyewitness accounts and pictures not only from that day, but from the past five years as the nation has recovered from the most deadly attack on U.S. soil in the country's history.
COMMENTARY:
Over the past five years, millions of words have been written about the terrorist attacks of September 11. Below is a sampling from each of the past four anniversaries. I will be adding links to additional commentary from today's anniversary throughout the day.
The Top Ten Editorials From September 11, 2001 - December 15, 2001 – chosen by John Hawkins, included are links to and excerpts from Michael Kelly, Victor Davis Hanson, Mark Steyn, Ann Coulter, Dave Barry and others. One of my favorite lines from the commentaries Hawkins chose came from Dave Barry.
“The people who did this to us are monsters; the people who cheered them have hate-sickened minds. One reason they can cheer is that they know we would never do to them what their heroes did to us, even though we could, a thousand times worse. They know that when we hunt down the monsters, we will try hard not to harm the innocent. Those are the handcuffs we willingly wear, because for all our flaws, we are a decent people.” -- Dave Barry

POST 9/11 CONTROVERSY:
IN PICTURES:
Pictures of the events that unfolded on September 11, 2001 are burned into the memories of most every American. Some pictures, such as the one of the firemen raising the American flag at Ground Zero, became symbols of the day. Others, such as the ones that captured those jumping from the Twin Towers to their deaths, were not widely published, but the very thought that they existed made an impact. After images of the planes hitting the Twin Towers and the towers falling were shown over and over again on September 11 and the days immediately following it, they later became controversial when some in the media decided that the American public could not handle the sight of those images.

My biggest concern is Americans may have become way too complacent and are too concerned remembering this horrible attack 5 years ago, while Al Qaeda also places a great value on this date, reflected on the flurry or recent threatening videos.
Hopefully the disrupted London plot to destroy airplanes was their big event set for this date. But Americans need to be on guard. Al Qaeda clearly wants to pull off something dramatic to prove to Islamic radicals around the world that they are still a strong orgnaization very soon or lose credibility among worldwide Islamic extremists. This is a huge danger to the U.S. There are also a huge pool of free lance Islamic radicals such as the attacker of the Jewish Center in Seattle this summer or the San Francisco Muslim who used his car as a weapon. Such acts are totally unpredictable by law enforcement as no trail or intelligence can prevent such Islamic terrorist acts by a lone person.
My message: Remember 9/11 prayfully. But be on guard always against a rising tide of Islamic extremism and terrrorism worldwide.

I agree--it is important to remember that we are in a long war. This is not like the conventional warfare of ages past--no treaties, no conclusive end. Rather it is a war in defense of civilization. Extending its benefits across the Middle East and denying terrorists room to breathe is how we will ultimately win this. This is no time to get fatigued.

I do really like your good enough text! Could you compose the argumentative essay as example? Because I do know that a masters essay writing service can write essays of the best quality.

Following my own exploration, millions of persons on our planet receive the business loans from good creditors. So, there is a good chance to find a auto loan in any country.

I opine that to receive the credit loans from banks you ought to present a firm motivation. But, one time I have got a short term loan, because I was willing to buy a building.
