Check out my new column at Townhall today. Here is an excerpt.
It would be bad enough if all Americans had to worry about was bad reporting on their television newscasts. In addition to the many recent cases of not only bias, but outright false reporting on the newscasts, there is a lot of "news reporting" working its way into entertainment media and the result is a misinformed public. Viewers getting their news from morning "news" shows like "Today" or "Good Morning America" must surely believe they can rely on the information they get. After all, the news departments from the networks play a role in the programs.
Similarly, viewers of ABC's "The View" certainly must believe the information presented on a program co-owned, co-produced and co-hosted by Barbara Walters would be reliable. For years there has been a liberal slant to the opening round table "Hot Topics" segment of the program, but recently with the addition of Rosie O'Donnell the slant has turned into outright misinformation and propaganda – all with the Barbara Walters stamp of approval.
For years there was not a conservative voice to be heard in the "hot topics" discussions on "The View." Now there is at least one conservative voice in Elizabeth Hasselbeck, but she is often either not up to speed on the topic being discussed or is shouted down or bullied by the loud and obnoxious O'Donnell. Often incorrect information is presented by co-host Joy Behar or O'Donnell and is not disputed or even questioned.

In Elizabeth's defense (as she is the only one on the show with 1/2 a brain...), I think usually Rosie has 2-3 items of hot debate up her sleeve ready to pick a fight at any chance given. You'll notice how she always condescendingly calls Elizabeth (and not anyone else there) by name when disputing anything that contradicts her opinions. Also, how could Elizabeth be up on issues that Rosie simply MAKES UP... Where does she come up with this crap? I will personally wrap her knick-knacks with bubble-wrap if she'll move her big butt over to Iran. Rosie and her...well whatever you call it... have a herd of kids, so they'd fit right in over there. After all, terrorists are just moms and dads, right?

You're questioning Rosie's need to be accountable when the Bush Administration, our own federal government, mislead the country about WMD in Iraq?! give me a break, where are the WMD's?! And that's just the start . . .
The only one that's been getting away with not being held accountable is the Bush Administration.

If Bush misled the country about WMD, then so did Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Madelaine Albright, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, the UN, Britain, France, and almost every other living breathing person in the world who believed Saddam had WMD. I have provided lists of the quotes from many of those above, and more, in previous columns, but there are many websites that have running lists as well. And lest you say Bush misled all those above, many of the quotes were made just prior to or shortly after Bush became President. I don't know how he could have misled them from his position as Governor of Texas, but in liberal fantasy world it seems anything is possible.
My best guess is that remaining stockpiles were sent to Syria (as much evidence points) and the real threat, the capacity to begin production at the drop of a hat, has been documented in Iraq. It just didn't seem to get much attention in the old media. It didn't fit the agenda.

What I absolutely instill in my children is the fact that the Rosies of the world only have the forum they do, here in the United States. As a lesbian, Rosie would be hanged on the closest telephone pole in Iran. It is so pathetic that the Iranians and the world, use our dimwitted Lefties in their talking points. Too bad the those on the left don't feel used.
Thanks for all you do. Best wishes from sunny New Mexico!

"Information not disputed"??? Are you serious?? It's THE VIEW,..not Nightline, not McNeal Leher, and certainly not O'Reilly (but even funnier). These are four middle aged women having a conversation, its not a news show. Fact checking is not a high priority nor should it be. You want news, watch the news. You want conversation that might interest the women who watch it, watch The View.

Elisabeth proudly spells her name with an es. I was proudest of her when she jumped on stage to say that a can-opener Rosie was hawking & giving away to the audience didn't actually work on any dented can. Rosie (& her similar Biddies) should apply the "does it actually work" test on all they say on that show. Rosie has been brain dead for all of her life. "She is very young, & she is very, very, very wrong."
Oh, and she's bankrupt with a bad comb-over to boot!

The person who said "our own federal government, mislead the country about WMD in Iraq" clearly didn't read anything other than one DNC Talking Points Memo and has been in a torpor ever since! We have found the WMDs and those WMDs were even acknowledged to be there by Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, and numerous other public figures.
I find Rosie O'Donnell to be an ignorant, vicious woman who blames her own country for her own inadequacies - which are legion. Just on the basis of her statement that "for the first time in history, steel melted" - she should be heavily medicated AND tucked away somewhere nice and padded until the clamor in her brain gives her some peace, since that statement may be one of the most bone-headed I've ever heard. Anyone who grew up in a rustbelt state and, as a child, had a tour of a steel plant knows how stupid THAT comment really was.
And Woody, you're very kind, but she really is NOT "very young". What's terrifying is that she's no doubt teaching this nonsense to her 4 innocent children!
