I was also at Civitas when Steele spoke. Great speech by a great conservative.

Great article - Vice President Steele? - I used to think J.C. Watts or Sec. Rice would be an excellent "first". But now I think the Republican Party has a real winner with Michael Steel.

Superb choice for a ticket w/ Fred Thompson don't you think? Oh my gosh, how can we draft him? I agree with your article and hve kept my eyes on this articulate , personable and engaging man...and all because of his messages and his methodology when he ran for the Maryland senate! In short, he's good...what am I saying, he's fantastic!

Michael Steele has one of the most magnetic and likable personalties of anyone in American politics. He ran for the senate in a very difficult year for Republicans, but will likely emerge as a strong future personality somewhere. He's a quality candidate that is certainly electable and is a likely future Republican Party rising star if the current trend towards the Democrats should stall.

Michael who?Why is there an assumption that the next vp must be black..just because Obama is in the race?I say Jeb Bush would be an excellent vp to Fred Thompson.He was a great Governor for Florida...go look up the things Jeb did for Florida.I think Jeb on the ticket would secure the state of Florida for the election..to the GOP.So count me in for Thompson/Bush 08
